Okay so HI GUYS IT'S ME BABARELLA !! so today i'll be introducing to you guys this new make-up product.. HAHAHAHAHAHAH JUST KIDDING !!!

Okay serious things now hehe.

We did tent-pitching as well as something new for yesterday's parade. I think we need to work a lot on our tent-pitching. It has been one year plus and we are still clueless as to what we should do, of course, I know most of us have read the CC manual and I get that some don't understand unless someone demonstrates it to them. That is why we have squad recess/lunch and practice sessions. It is just that some of us (or sometimes most of us) do not turn up. Why is that? I don't know. It could be that we have projects? We have no time as we have to change? These are all valid reasons (to me, I guess) and as long as you inform us, we will understand. I really hope that everyone turns up for squad meetings and we can bond a little yah.

As for the 'something new', I guess it is something I wanted to do for some time and it finally happened. We had squad reflection+bonding+thrashing. It was really... intense? No, I'm not gonna reveal what happened, it's our squad thing but I  shall say my own faults. I am short-tempered, easily annoyed and bossy, SOMETIMES. (at least I hope it is sometimes) and I understand and can feel the frustration we get when we see someone do wrong BUT WE ARE A SQUAD YOZ AND WE SHOULD HELP EACH OTHERS YOZ. Continuing with myself, I actually have NO RIGHT to scold anyone at all. I do not practise camp craft regularly, I don't always turn up for squad activities, I have clique within the squad, I am biased and self-centered sometimes. These are SOME of the areas I need to improve on and I NEED ARTEMIS' HELP so SOS SOS SOS SOS SOS SOS SOS SOS ALERT!

After yesterday, I was reflecting seriously after CCA during my tuition (but first lemme tell you a funny as hell story, so yesterday we were working on visual text during tuition and then cuz i was thinking very seriously about CCA and wasn't paying attention so when my cher suddenly called on me, i was like 'YES MA'AM!' it was sooooo embarrassing i swear, the class next door thought got what happening and got scared LMAO aHAHAHA) and I think that ARTEMIS WE SHOULD BUCK UP AND WORK ON EVERY SINGLE AREA WE ARE WEAK AT AND NOT LET CEDAR NPCC UNIT DOWN OKAI !!!

v little ppl turned up like 6 hmph >:( even tho more cld've turned up :"( unity goals ok but we can improve on dis aspect anyway.  me and aman & ginger helped out w knots, like teach em wut to do @ which step and what each knot is called (wowza srsly) but ok we all aren't perfect rite there will always be smth we lack in forgiveness complete.

ofc we had changing first. out target was 4 min, but we ended up hitting 6 min 19 s aish. we missed out target so badly haix but at least the faster ones helped out

then tent pitching!!

we aimed to build an inner sheet in 25 min, but we ended up finishing it at 30 min w time extention. and the quality was so um. our grp's tent tore tho. w unpitched it & tried again, this time targeting 20 min w no time extention. My group finished in time, but it was full of imperfections, whereas the other team didn't. I think we've got a couple of common problems, such as giving eye power, not knowing wut exactly  do bc nvr read campcraft manual, poor tension, "poorly positioned" ( by which I mean like slanted). got a few more cant rmb. yea we got knocked down t0o.

aft tat we returned the campcraft items, and went to the back of the canteen w ma'am. oh gawd I was so scared I tot we were about to be punished or smth, esp wen my thinking is pretty wild and im pretty paranoid too.

tbh, its kinda weird its always the same ppl being mentioned, and oso once someone says sb, the next few oso say the same person, like huh? I do agree w some of them, but sometimes we keep saying the same repetitive things it can get a lil annoying, esp 4 me cuz it was like almost all abt me and always the same thing like dude I know aldr tats enuf! i was kinda annoyed and a lil hurt, but itz part and parcel of stuff like tat I guess

most of us cried, idk how to explain tho. it was pretty sad but yea

I guess its actually kinda beneficial 4 us cuz we got to know each other btr, were given some "tips" by Ma'ams, and suggestions on how to improve ourselves first at hand. cuz everyones at fault too rite? "it takes 2 hands to clap", as the old saying goes.

at the end we got a "good points abt everyone" part, like everyone says a good thing about anyone, cr aly. this brightened up the mood a lil. and ma'am was telling us how to blame aly if our mums aren't happy w us coming home late or smth

well, CTs coming up for o levels and IPs lots of GAs and TAs coming up and due so jiayouz guys this is a crucial period (sort of) its really tough period and important period so make sure not to fall sick and like revise stuff drink lots lots water and tak careeee ( i sound like a naggy grandma) yea but jiayouz guys don't be too stressed out over this, have anything to rant you have so many of us (15) to rant to, and yea... anyways, ytd was wew and wow and woo and waa becauseeee we accomplished alot of things we had never done before yayyyyy !!!!! good job Artemis :)))

oh and i'll just talk about punishments before parade first I FEEL SO BAD AND HEART WARMED HOHOHO THX GUYS Y'ALL WENT THROUGH SO MUCH TO GET US BACK AND NOW WE LEFT SKIT SO JIAYOUZZZ :D  LOVE YOU GUYSSSS

 yes now, PT PARADEEEE it was intense but kind of fun now that i think back hahahaahaha we were actually supposed to pitch tent before doing pt but it was raining so Ma'ams shifted tent pitching to later. we were supposed to do 3 sets of 5bx (each bx we did 15) + 40 jumping jacks to claim back formations we lost during AC. we did 1 set, jumping jacks, 2nd set and we were tired (i think Ma'ams could tell) so they were so nice and decided to let us do endurance run instead of the last set of bx! :D we were supposed to run for 15 minutes and our target was 12 round around the 4th floor classroom block and WE ALL SUCCEEDED YAYYYY GOOD JOB AGAIN ARTEMIS !!! Ma'ams also sang songs for us while we ran. Ma'ams, thank you for the motivation, Ma'ams.

yea and after pt i think we had not enough time so we skipped tent pitching and went straight to debrief ( PS REMEMBER TO REVISE TENT PITCHING )

yes and during debrief it was funny because our NCOs for yesterday's parade were "fighting"with Ma'am Jane saying that we were better than Hestia Ma'ams and that we cheered louder than Hestia Ma'ams hahahhahahaha all in all debrief was much fun than usual, because Ma'am Isabelle was being funny during the ratings part HAHAHAAHHA

yesterday all in all, was a fun, unique, intense and special parade ( we finally had Ma'am Eden )

When the rest of our squadmates were doing the remaining 25 crunches & lunges, a Ma'am got the confiscated people over and told us something & told us to tell the " non-confiscated " ppl what she told us. so yea this post is abt it, I will try to include as much as I can rmb as possible.

so anyways we stood in a semi-circle, and we told Ma'am how we were confiscated and by who. And the after listening to us, she found some common reasons why we were confiscated. They are miscommunication, when we carry things around, being unable to keep up and a few others I cannot rmb im sorry!! Ma'am told us that being confiscated isn't entirely our fault. She also told us how to avoid being confiscated next time.
They are:
-we can drag at least a squad mate around wherever we go
-get their attention if im not wrong
-we can try to keep up with them/their pace (try not to lag behind)
-don't leave anyone behind


there are a few others but I cannot rmb too >< im so sorry
my memory super limited
ill update the others ASAP

anyways I'll still tell my squadmates during squad recess again, jic they nvr read so yay task completed *ticks the task off mental list*

Parade 19 Feb

Yesterday, it was really cold. It was also the day we had parade, a full PT parade.

The schedule said that there was campcraft then PT, and since we did punishments before, I thought
" Okay, we'll have time to kind of rest so it won't be that bad right? " WRONG. I died during punishments, then revived, died again during 15bx, got revived and died during endurance run. 12 rounds in 15 minutes, I can't even survive running two rounds around the 200m track OMG I AM SO UNFIT OK OMG

Parade wasn't that bad, I mean, not that bad. We did do something new, lunges around the classroom block, and we did finish the punishments so, it wasn't that bad.

Bee Kim and I were running together ( by running I meant jogging because I couldn't run anymore ) after some round, and then we started talking and we wanted to give up there and then. Also Astraia Ma'ams came up and started singing, thanks for the motivation Ma'ams. ( Ma'ams if you are reading this please never sing baby again thank you ) At the last minute, Bee Kim and I just sprinted, and then we had to do another round BUT IT'S OKAY 13 ROUNDS IS AN ACCOMPLISHMENT FOR ME

Also, Ma'am Jane, if you're reading this, please don't tekan us we love you very very much !!!!

Yesterday's parade ( 19/2 )

Hey guys ! Hope yall had a good rest !

So yesterdays parade was quite different. But before that we went for punishments for our confiscated squadmates at around 1.45. It was quite tiring especially the lunges but we perservered through !

During parade, it was raining so we didn't get to do our campcrafts:( So we did a full PT parade !! I don't think we had one before. We managed to finish the punishments for the formations !! However, we still have the skit that we need to do asap. I think the most tiring part was the endurnce run after all the punishments we did, my legs were so tired. I think our arm power is quite..not up to standard yet. I think it's best if we do at least 5 proper pumpings each day rather than having one "unofficial" apt per week. We also got a few things confiscated, again. Even though we discussed about the standardization so many times I think the people who don't attend squad recess/lunch are the ones missing out. We also practice falling in and I don't understand how some people still do not know.

Anyway CTs are coming in less than a week? I need to study haha I hope yall do too. Good Luck for CTs !! May the force be with you ( hi if you love star wars i love you )

Yo shanks sup!! anyways im finally blogging some real stuff and not shitty jokes phew. must've been a reief to ur sore eyes, see my jokes all so nice till ur eyes all sore liao.

YAY I MADE IT 2 FIRST POST ABT PARADE

Ok so tdy we started @1.45 but n0t exactly. we actually went to the 3rd floor to do punishments 2 get back confiscated squaddies and yea that was till 2.45 . so we (not included those confiscated which i m oso) did 3 sets of 25 bx , 50 jumping & jacks 7 rounds around 3rd lvl. yah lah so de confiscated ppl heer 4 em lah. we were too loud so we were told to quite down as there were still lessons gg on by maams so we did tat ok. den wen it was almost ovr a cher come & "confront" us asking if we were the grp of girls who had been making so much noise and blah blah blah so yea we admitted. wut tat was like some time ago & we aldr quiten rite down liao ok nvm im not talking bad abt ppl or my judgements or whatsoever i wan here bc yea not v nice rite. yah den got my last yr cher tell us to run somewhere else bc v distracting ahahaha. yea he was the one who tot i had adhd( i kenut pay attention in class way worser den others so yea) some of u may noe wut im talking here. den we had 25 crunches (crunchy), 25 pumpings & 2 rounds left.

yay now letz talk abt parade, which was exhaustive but rather enriching

I was louder den usual tdy, so happy w myself tho now I got vv bad sore throad oww

we didn't fall in late dis time yay not quit n achievement but still quite an achievement whatevr. ^_^
uh huh den roll call and inspection. our boots still not shiny enough, but hopefully it will be soon.

we did our punishments to get formations. tbh i feel maams were pretty nice and kind to let us do it now and clear it off. It totally got the crap outta us and we pretty much felt like our legs were jelly beans aft it. well we got to do lunges around the whole floor 4 the first time and goddam, itz more tiring den it seems. we look at ppl do w yalahyalah say ok one lah but wen we do we r like omy wut i wanna quit ><(my pov)

maam say pt is 4 our own good and we shld do it properly if we wanna get nice calves & stuff but ouch ouch ouch itz so hard and painful...but we persevered yayy!!

thank goodness 4 the water breaks cant express my love + relief + gratitude + lots more 4 em

instead of doing the final set of bx they let us do endurance running (I think dey cld see we aldr v tired) thank goodness at least running isn't so bad but still quite bad too ugh, esp if u v fat and hv short legs aka me.
so itz our second endurance, this time we had to run minimum 12 rounds in 12 or 15 min i cant rmb , up from 12 in 20 mins last time. this is technically my first ever endurance bc i didn't get to do last time as i was feeling unwell, but actually i enjoy it v much. and guess what?? all of us met the target of 12 whoop whoop yay we've got gr8 runners. i think the average was 14 rounds, but yay i managed to do 16 and i was so sweaty and brr it was so cold aft esp in wet clothes and breezy winds. deon run so fast sia im jealous but i admire her 4 tat. maams cheered us on aw was pretty encouraging but quite distracting at the same time(no offense maams if you are reading this and also i do appreciate and love it too). lmao my mentality was just survive and run and i cldnt think at all mind shut down totally. i was screaming jiayous so wrongly in my final lap ahem i sounded like some feral and crazy lady who gone out of mind totally and rabid(im not a lady yet but yah) . now my throat is vvv sore owww. *mews in agony*

ok so yay tmr doing punishments to get back squaddies, formation & other stuff. im pretty scared okk. wellz maybe nervous. BUT WHATEVR IT IS, WE WILL PULL THRU AS A SQUAD!! #wewillsurvive . still cant do pumpings properly tho always end up chicken wing one or kenut geddup after going down whats wrong wif me haix

 the tot tat 15 other ppl r undergoing what u r undergoing is well idk how to describe but just makes me feel so sorry 4 em. for us.  if we had been more careful and stuff den we wouldn't hv had 2 do dis e.g. the formations. i feel so bad tat bc im confiscated, my squadmates will hv to do more punishments jus to get me back. the guilt is jus eating me alive. its my fault dey hv 2 do more punishments. i guess i'll hv to be more careful next time. being confiscated can be v horrid and terrible like how u r excluded from stuff (e.g. punishments 2 get back squadmates)

Seasoning of Beret

Hi guys! I hope this would be easier reference for everyone for seasoning the beret :)

1) Inserting of crest:
For the crest, insert it through the cardboard part of the beret. There are ready-made holes already in the beret (although not very visible) so just slot it through. You'll realize that it is quite snug and fits perfectly so you only need to insert the pin.

* common mistake: don't put the crest through the eye rings part. Put it through the cardboard part of the beret. You'll realize that if the crest is slotted through the eye rings part it is quite loose even with the pin on which is an indication that it is wrong. 










2) Removing the eye rings.
Use a pair of scissors to remove the eyes rings. Be careful and try not to cut onto the cloth of the beret.

* sorry if it is not really visible but the eye rings when removed most probably should look like this.

3) Folding of beret:
The crest should be on the right side, not on the left side when the beret is folded. When folding the beret it should not cover the crest (LOL but mine got covered a bit :p )    

For the back of the beret, (pic 1 and pic 2) take as much as you can and fold it downwards. It should look like (pic 3)

4) Putting beret under something heavy:

In order to season beret properly please put it under heavy books or mattress (especially the thick kind of mattress). It takes about agar agar 1-2 months for it to season completely so please place it under the heavy objects immediately after parade each week.

Honestly, I don't know what to name posts, sorry if it sound boring bUT IT ISN'T

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SQUAD'S RIGHT MARKER AMANDA !! I've said that so many times but why not do again.

We had squad recess today to celebrate Amanda's birthday. Only around 9 came? Though, I hope Amanda likes the gift ( amanda if you read this hi )

Parade today actually turned out quite good. OH BEFORE PARADE AROUND 2.50PM i lost my shoe bag which has boots, but in the end found it in class lol

I think we really really need to improve on tent-pitching. Quite obvious who didn't revise but most of us did as a squad ! I think our pegging and arm power improved though:) Changing timing too:( Actually, I don't know how to improve. Like what should we do? I think Artemis works best if not under presseure. I feel that keeping quiet actually makes us work faster somehow. Like how if we cheer, we would focus more on cheering instead of changing. I think that the folding and stanndardising part is what makes us slower ( must work on that! ) ALSO I believe our attitude is improving, good job guys, do continue !!

HELLO ITS ME

Squad recess just now was a success !! I think 13 turned up? WOOO We practiced drills and also did the 5bx ! Tomorrow having tenting pitching practice during recess, hope alot turns up ! Keep it up Artemis ! Honestly, squad recess is quite fun:) Hope to have more sr/sl and for CCA tomorrow to go well

Squad recess tdy

So we had squad recess tdy, well, to practice drills. That was our original intention, but we ended up practicing drills for like 2 min & practice apt instead. wowza. we wanted to practice apt tmr, but then we realised we would only be further straining ourselves tmr as got jogging and yea punishments, so itz kinda illogical to waste energy and  den possibly not be able to do punishments properly. so we deided 2 do apt tdy & drills tmr aft sch instd. IT WAS FUN OKK. We practically dragged ourselves to do each section, esp leg lifts. see how much w luv apt. we jus dreaded it. but den we managed to complete it good job!! when we were doin it some teachers were legit judging us. there was one teacher who was like staring. I think he asked wat we doin (not so sure if he did cuz I wasn't payin much attention 2 him) and charliflower said smth and coincidentally boom we dropped  the floor to do pumpings it was so hilarious HAHAHA. actually I dun give whoever is judging us a shit tbh cuz we aren't doing smth "illegal" or being a nuisance but haha maybe we were v noisy idk. And when we did lunges across the courtyard(aish it was the only space big enuff 4 al of us 2 do @ once mah not bc we wan show off luh) we were literally doin it so fast and su was damn fast arghhh. I was laughing my head off looking at the weird way ppl were lookin at us. idk if I was the only one laughing the whole time thru the whole thing maybe my teacher is rite I can laugh at anything. it was tiring n my whole shirt was soaked (v hot mah) but I guess the fun and bonding we had made up 4 it. actually it wasn't so bad but im pretty worried I kenut do finish 4 punishments tmr

(darn it, i should have done my hw but nooooo)

Last week's parade was a blast and I had to say that I had loaddds of fun. We finally had the chance to know our juniors better and it's really heartening to see that they're really enthusiastic, let's hope that they will stay in NPCC for a longg longg time yah :)))))))

one year

HELLO GUYS

6 Feb..it's been a year. I'm really grateful to know all of Artemis for the past one year. My journey in Cedar NP has become a memorable one because of yall:)

We've done so well for the past year and I hope we continue to improve as an individual and as a squad. I'm really happy that we have made a such big improvement. Honestly, I feel that I belonged to Artemis and I hope yall do too:)

I'm sorry if I sound authoritative and bossy at times, I don't mean to. Sorry if anyone of you feel excluded, we will definitely improve on that, I promise. I hope yall feel positive towards the fact that NP is going to be your CCA for 4 years. I really want all of us to work together and feel included in any type for activity or discussion. I know that there are obvious cliques in the squad, but I hope all of us continue to bond and don't see that as a problem.

Alyssa: You're a great leader and very organized. I'm grateful to have you in our squad to help settle conflicts. 

Amanda: You're very thoughtful and always puts others before yourself. 

Bee Kim: You're quite funny and always light up the squad's mood.

Charlene: You're very logical and always dedicated in whatever you do.

Deon: You're weird, a good weird. You always help the squad in every way you can.

Gin Wen: You are very kind and no matter what, you would always try to see the positive side of things.

Japleen: You're very caring and always try your best to turn up for squad practices. 

Kavithaa: You're the best at campcraft. You always respect people's opinions although you may not agree with them.
